Blood donation camp held at Raj Bhawan

Imphal, August 29 2024:
A blood donation cum awareness camp was organised by Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West district branch in collaboration with Department of Transfusion Medicine and supported by State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) and NHM Manipur, at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, on Thursday.
In separate statements, Governor's secretariat and Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West, informed that Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who presided over the event and extended warm welcome to the participants, praised their contributions to the humanitarian effort.
Nearly 100 individuals were present at the camp.
Governor Acharya, who also serves as the president of Red Cross Society, Manipur, interacted with and encouraged the blood donors, underscoring the life-saving impact of their contributions.
He also presented certificate of appreciation to the Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West district, recognising their exemplary conduct of the camp.
The certificate was received by vice-chairman Kh Jadu and secretary Dr Bankimchandra Thokchom.
Certificate of appreciation was also awarded to Dr Rachandra for his commendable work in organising the camp.
Total of 80 units of blood were collected out of which 17 were female donors.
