Three arrested with large quantity of drugs

Imphal, January 28 2025:
In a series of successful drug busts on Tuesday, police arrested three individuals and seized significant quantity of contraband drugs from different parts of the state.
According to information shared on X by Manipur Police, in the first incident, police arrested one Anil Katwal (27) of Kanglatongbi Mandir in Imphal West along with 13 packets containing suspected opium, weighing approximately 13.20 kg, which were concealed in a four-wheeler vehicle.
The vehicle and the suspected opium packets have been seized by the police.
In a separate case, Bashir Ahomod Laskar (36) from Nutan Ramnagar Part I, Cachar, Assam, who was staying in Lilong bazar, was arrested along with 4.24 kg of suspected brown sugar.
The contraband was hidden in a welding machine box, which he was carrying at the time of his arrest.
In another operation, police arrested one Meraimayum Ali Hassan (32) from Lilong Mairen Khun, Thoubal district, under Lilong police station.
A total of 37 soap cases containing plastic packets, each filled with suspected brown sugar, were seized.
The total weight of the brown sugar seized in this case is 859 grams.
