Imphal, June 27 2024: In connection with the 144th birth anniversary of Helen Keller, Disable People 's Organisation Manipur, Handicap Development Foundation Manipur and Bir Tikendrajit University, Canchipur jointly organised a felicitation function for visually impaired students who passed this year's Class X and XII examinations.

An awareness programme on the theme, "The Role of Special Education on Inclusive Education", was also held as part of the function held at the premises of Bir Tikendrajit University, Canchipur.

The function was attended by CRC, Imphal director N Khoibi, HD Foundation chairman Dr Sapam Jasobanta, secretary Laishram Bina, BTU executive director Haobijam Birbal and BTU resident director Dr L Suresh as presidium members.

On the other hand, Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Manipur observed the birth anniversary of Helen Keller at Tera Wangthongbi Leikai on Thursday.

As part of the observance, Centre's founder M Saratkumar and media advisor Nimon led the gathering in offering floral tributes to the portrait of Helen Keller.
