Seminar dissects Rights of Women, POCSO Act 2012

Chandel, February 27 2025: Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in collaboration with Purum Pantha Snu Lup organised a one-day seminar on "Rights of Women & POCSO Act, 2012" at the Purum Pantha community hall in Chandel district to raise awareness on women's rights and child protection laws.

The seminar, which commenced from 10 am on Thursday, was attended by MSCW chairperson Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, members T Choung-sin Koireng and Sk Sophia Moyon, Chandel additional SP (operations) TS Chamna Anal, and Purum Pantha village chief Sk Jeevan, among others.

During the technical session, CAF & PD Department counsellor Lv Robert, and Child Welfare Committee, Tengnoupal district member secretary Darngam Khal-ing delivered talks on the "Rights of Women & POCSO Act, 2012" .

They called upon the womenfolk to get acquainted on legal protections to better navigate challenges and advocate for their rights.

In her keynote address, chairperson Thumlip Monsang highlighted the significance of such awareness programmes, while stressing the necessity for both womenfolk and the public to understand their legal rights and protections under the POCSO Act, 2012 .

The seminar was also participated by Pastor Sk Angkham of Purum Pantha Baptist Church, president of Purum Pantha Snu Lup Sk Lucky, secretary J Leena, and members of Purum Pantha Women Society.
