Dalit Association calls on Governor

Imphal, January 22 2025:
A six-member team of All Manipur Dalit Development Association (AMDDA) on Wednesday called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, requesting him to Take up welfare measures of for the vulnerable and weak sections of the society in the state.
Speaking to newspersons after meeting the governor, AMDDA president Dr TM Rajen Ayangba said that the Governor was urged to ensure free education for students with poor financial backgrounds, enhance income of farmers and assist in setting up Manipur Dalit Army.
Informing that a Dalit-only school is being constricted in Senapati, he said that the Governor assured to extend his assistance in establishing similar schools in all the districts.
He (governor) also assured to consult with the state and central governments for the well-being of farmers.
Rajen expressed firm belief that the government would continue to support the Association in the future.
