JAC suspends stir over Kamalbabu case

'JAC against the missing of Laishram Kamalbabu' has announced suspension of its sit-in protest at Kanto Sabal, which had been obstructing movement to and from Leimakhong.
The demonstration was organised to demand the whereabouts of Laishram Kamalbabu, who went missing from within the Leimakhong army camp.
Speaking to media persons at the protest venue at Kanto Sabal Leimakhong on Thursday, convenor Laishram Ratan pointed out that the JAG carried out protests in connection with the missing of Laishram Kamalbabu and to demand authorities concerned trace him.
The convenor announced that decision to suspend the sit-in has been taken considering the ensuing Christmas celebrated by the indigenous communities follow ing Christianity as well as assurance from the government.
However, movement of army vehicles will not be allowed as they (army) failed to establish the whereabouts of the missing Kamalbabu, he added.
According to Ratan, minister Heikham Dingo assured that a cabinet meeting would be convened during which the Kamalbabu case will figure prominently.
In the light of the minister's assurance, the protest launched by the JAC has been suspended for the time being, he said.
While expressing gratitude to womenfolk from various localities for their participation in the protest, the convenor also urged for support to future movements of the JAC .
