Imphal, November 17 2024: In response to the escalating chaos in Manipur, CRPF Director General Anish Dayal Singh arrived in the troubled state after being directed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to assess the situation on the ground.

Since Saturday, Manipur witnessed a massive wave of unrest as violence erupted in its capital, Imphal following the tragic killings of three children and three women from Jiribam.

Angry mobs have ransacked, vandalised, and set fire to residences of MLAs and m listers, as public outrage boiled over.

The central government had recently dispatched 20 additional companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to Manipur taking the total number of companies to 218 .
