Imphal, August 13 2025:
Share & Care, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, RIMS Psychiatry Department and Friday Chuhing jointly organised the 12th Cancer Warrior Support function in honour of late Oinam ningol Longjam Ashalata (Ibethoi) at the Dr Kamal Hall, RIMS on Wednesday.
On the occasion, two cancer patients who are undergoing treatment and another two survivors were provided with monetary assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, BA-BINA Group of Companies chairman and managing director Dr Th Dhabali Singh remarked that one of the reasons treating a cancer patient can be so challenging is the profound emotional and physical toll the disease takes.
Once diagnosed, patients often experience a deep sense of loss and fatigue, feeling as though life no longer offers a way forward.
He added that cancer is typically a long-term illness that cannot be cured instantly, requiring prolonged treatment and often causing severe financial strain.
These factors have led people to perceive cancer as a deadly and frightening disease.
However, the encouraging reality is that if cancer is detected and diagnosed early, it can be cured, Dr Dhabali said, stressing the importance of following certain dos and don'ts to help prevent the disease.
Friday Chuhing proprietor Lokendro Longjam said that the financial support extended on the occasion is from the support provided by people by buying sugarcane juice from him every Friday at Palace Compound.
The function was also attended by Share & Care founder Dr RK Lenin Singh, AIR, Imphal head of programme Nongthombam Roma Devi, and RIMS Psychiatry Department head Dr Senjam Gojendra Singh.
