Thoubal, February 13 2025: District Social Welfare Office, Thoubal, in collaboration with the Community Development Programme Centre-IRCA (CDPC), Social Reformation and Development Organisation-IRCA (SRDO), Rural Development Society-IRCA (RDS), and Eramdam Ningol Yaiphakol RVS-Eranyai IRCA organised a one-day Training of Trainers (TOT) session for the Master Volunteers' Training Programme on Drug Abuse Prevention.

The training was conducted as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) campaign at the Counting Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, Thoubal, on Thursday.

During the event, DC A Subhash Singh, and su perintendent of police Dr S Ibomcha Singh, launched the signature campaign under NMBA.

The programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), and the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA), Manipur.

SLCA director Dr A Jayenta Kumar, Lilong police station second officer in-charge inspector Oinam Inaobi Singh and Dr Khangembam Robindro Singh, who is senior psychiatrist and district nodal officer, AMHP Chandel, were the resource persons of the training programme participated by over 50 volunteers.

It may be mentioned the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was launched on August 15, 2020 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment with the stated objective to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of sub stance abuse, particularly among youth, women, and children.
