MU NSS Cell conducts 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign

National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Manipur University, Canchipur, organised of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign on Saturday at the Department of Anthropology premises.
The event celebrated patriotism and unity among students and the local community.
The programme was chaired by Dr L Santosh Singh, programme coordinator of the NSS Cell, along with Dr Kh Herachandra Singh and Dr H Suraj Singh, NSS programme officers at Manipur University.
The event began with a keynote lecture by Dr T Deepaman-juri Devi, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, who spoke on "The Origin and Development of the Indian National Flag", presenting a detailed historical account of the flag's evolution and its significance in India's struggle for independence and nation-building.
The session was attended by NSS volunteers, M Sc students, research scholars, and school students.
A Tiranga Rangoli Art Competition followed, with participants - including NSS volunteers, students, and research scholars - creating intricate designs inspired by the Indian national flag.
Later, a written quiz competition on the theme "Quiz on the National Indian Flag", was also held, showcasing the contestants' knowledge and patriotic zeal.
The programme wrapped up with a 'Patriotic Rally', during which participants proudly carried the national flag in a unified march, symbolising solidarity and respect for the nation.
In his closing remarks, Dr Santosh Singh extended his gratitude to organisers, participants, NSS volunteers, and members of the media for their support in making the event a success.
