GC CRPF celebrates 56th Raising Day

Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force, Langjing, Imphal, marked its 56th Raising Day on Friday with a solemn wreath-laying and floral tribute ceremony at the Martyrs Memorial.
Family members of fallen personnel were invited and honoured during the programme.
Addressing a Sainik Sammelan, the DIG of Group Centre Imphal, praised the sacrifices of CRPF personnel who died in the line of duty and extended best wishes to all officers and men.
He lauded the force's role in upholding internal security and urged personnel to honour its legacy and rededicate themselves to the service of the nation with the spirit of "Nation First", informed a statement issued by the DIG.
A Grand Mela was also organised to mark the occasion, inaugurated by the Inspector General, Manipur and Nagaland Sector, in the presence of officers and personnel from the Group Centre campus and nearby units.
The mela featured multi-cuisine dishes from across the country, millet -based food, games, shopping and other attractions.
The celebrations included a friendly volleyball match, cultural performances showcasing unity in diversity through folk dances, songs and a skit, followed by a ceremonial feast for all officers and personnel, the statement added.
