Outreach programme hosted under E-PMSMA

District Health Society Chandel organised an outreach programme focused on providing quality Ante-Natal Care (ANC) to pregnant women as part of the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (E-PMSMA) program at CHC Chakpikarong, Chandel yesterday.
During the programme, a total of 46 ANC registrations, 14 ANC first trimester registration and 10 high risk pregnancies were noted.
Additionally, medical services including ENT check up, ultrasound for pregnant women and general medicine consultations were provided to 10 people.
Led by CMO Chandel Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang, the medical team consisted of Dr PS Shangreihow (Gynaecologist), Dr HB Kenhring (Sonologist), Dr Anjalikrishna VR (General Medicine), Dr RD Anna Niwarhing (ENT), District Programme Manager Jasha Premi and DHS Chandel staff.
It is worth noting that the outreach programmes are held on the 28th of every month under E-PMSMA for the screening, identification, line listing and appropriate management of high risk pregnancies by Obstetrician-Gynaecologists, Radiologists and Physicians at CHC Chakpikarong, Chandel.
Vital medicines including iron folic acid and calcium supplements are distributed free of cost at the CHC.
Mention may be made that the Abhiyan was launched to provide fixed-day assured, comprehensive and quality antenatal care universally to all pregnant women.
