Pherzawl observes Palliative Care Day

World Hospice and Palliative Care Day was observed by the District Health Society (DHS), Pherzawl at Community Health Centre (CHC), Parbung on Saturday.
The observance was organised to highlight the crucial role of palliative care for individuals with terminal illnesses.
National Health Mission, Pherzawl district programme manager Zenngaihlun led the event which was attended by doctors, staff of CHC, Parbung, caregivers and other stakeholders.
During the function, financial assistance was extended to caregivers of terminally ill patients in the district as part of the National Programme on Palliative Care.
In a parallel effort, the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Cell of the DHS, Pherzawl organised an awareness drive at Lungthulien village on January 31, educating the public about NCD risks and prevention.
Additionally, training sessions were conducted for village authority members, ASHAs, and Anganwadi workers of Taithu and Damdei villages.
These initiatives fall under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Stroke (NPCDCS) and the Jagrata Abhiyan Pakhwada, a nationwide campaign promoting public health awareness and community participation.
