Traffic cops briefed on heat wave, pollution

Thoubal, April 30 2025:
A sensitisation programme on 'Heat Waves, Air Pollution and Preventive Measures for Traffic Police' was held at the NHM conference hall, CMO Complex, Thoubal on Wednesday.
The programme participated by 35 traffic police personnel was held with Thoubal CMO Dr Y Nokul Singh and DSP (Traffic) Y Sunanta Singh as chief guest and president respectively.
District Hospital, Thoubal medical superintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar Singh and NP-NCD DNO Dr M Bikramjit Singh were the main speakers of the day.
Dr Ruhinikumar spoke on air pollution and how to cope with the situation and ways and measures to minimise air pollution, while Dr M Bikramjit elaborated on heat exhaustion and heat stroke and how to manage it.
Earlier, Dr Nokul highlighted the impact of global warming and climate change on the human health, and advised the participants to follow public health advisory issued by National Programme for Climate Change and Human Health; NHM, Manipur and Medical Directorate from time to time.
An interaction session with the participants was also held during the event.
