VDF body calls for returning arms

Bishnupur, August 30 2024: All Manipur VDF Employees' Welfare Association has appealed all concerned to return the three SLR weapons snatched from VDF personnel stationed at the Leikinthabi farmhouse of Thangmeiband MLA Joykisan on August 27 night.

Addressing media persons at Bishnupur Ward No 6 community hall on Friday, association president L Devan Singh stated that any negative comments about VDF personnel may result in direct termination rather than suspension.

Stating that VDF members are defending the territorial integrity of Manipur, he said that no one should exacerbate their difficulties.

The president reiterated his appeal for returning the snatched weapons either to the VDF on humanitarian ground or to the government.

He also announced reward of Rs 3 lakh for information leading to return/recovery of the snatched service weapons.
