DSSS conducts training cum capacity building programme

Ukhrul, July 30 2022: Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) today organised a one day training cum capacity building programme for farmers, CEOs & Board of Directors of Farmer Producers Company Ltd at Hamleikhong Community Hall, Ukhrul under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDER phase-III).

The programme was conducted with the support of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Solomon Yamro, district coordinator DSSS stated that the training programme was organised to sensitize the CEO & BoDs about their roles and responsibilities and ways to promote organic farming & marketing.

He urged all FIGs members to cooperate with the appointed officers for smooth execution of the programmes.

P Honpam stressed on the need to build strong relationships with farmers of all 6 companies.

"Group leaders should collect the required data of all Farmers Interested Group (FIG) members enrolled in Haoram Farmers Producer Company (FPC), Semka FPC, Ringrum FPC, Sivathei FPC, Oriental FPC from Ukhrul and IHAO FPC of Kamjong district", he added.

Later, a participatory company-wise interaction was held to chalk out their programme and policies on how to strengthen themselves with their future action plan.
