VDF body condemns snatching of arms

Imphal, August 29 2024: All Manipur VDF Employees' Welfare Association (AMVDFEWA) has denounced snatching of arms from VDF personnel deployed for duty at Awang Leikinthabi on Tuesday and likened such act to inciting infighting.

While expressing that service weapons of the VDF members were snatched taking advantage of manpower inadequacy, AMVDFEWA informed in a statement that it is uncalled for and strongly condemnable that the perpe trators disregarded struggle and insecurity of the VDF personnel who are deployed both in the hills and the valley and discharging duty to protect life and, properties of the people but entitled honorarium in pittance.

Demanding return of the snatched arms, it also appealed to civil society organisations and general population to help in ensuring the snatched arms are recovered and handed over to the VDF personnel concerned.
