Campaign against stubble burning in Kakching

Kakching, October 27 2024:
Along with launching a campaign to stop burning of stubble with the coming of the harvest season, a cleanliness drive was also organised by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kakching District Branch in association with Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching, on Sunday.
The programmes were held in continuation different events held on the last Sunday every month by Indian Red Cross Society, Kakching along with its Junior Red Cross and Youth Red Cross.
The "Stop Stubble Burning Campaign" and the cleanliness drive was participated by students of Grace Cottage Academy, Indian Red Cross Society Kakching District Branch chairman Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar, secretary Kshetrimayum Dharmadas, vice president Moirangthem Manihar, volunteers of Junior Red Cross of Grace Cottage Academy and Martin Grammar School, which is under IRCS Kakching, volunteers of Youth Red Cross of Kha Manipur College Kakching, Junior Red Cross and Youth Red Cross Kakching coordinator Kshetrimayum Surjit, Grace Cottage Academy principal Kshetrimayum Daniel, and teachers of the two schools.
During the campaign, people were made aware on the drawbacks of burning stubble with posters also pasted at different locations in Kakching bazar.
