Pherzawl observes BBBP, Road Safety Month

Pherzawl, January 25 2025:
The district administration of Pherzawl, in collaboration with the District Programme Officer (DPO), organised an awareness and enrolment drive under the Saksham Anganwadi arid Poshan 2.0 initiatives at Parbung on Friday, as part of the ongoing observance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme in the district.
Deputy commissioner Asish Das attended the event as chief guest, administering a pledge and highlighting the significance of girls' education.
A signature campaign was also held as part of the programme.
In alignment with the BBBP initiative, the district administration, in partnership with the CMO Pherzawl, conducted a Capacity Building Programme on the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act for frontline health workers.
Held at Parbung on Friday, the training aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of ASHAs, ANMs and Anganwadi workers to promote gender equality and prevent sex-selective practices.
Additionally, the district administration observed National Road Safety Month (NRSM) on Friday at Parbung, with deputy commissioner Asish Das attending as chief guest.
Pherzawl Police conducted awareness drives to educate motorists on road safety and the importance of adhering to traffic rules.
In a related effort, the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Pherzawl marked NRSM at Lungthulien Junior High School, conducting sessions to sensitise students on road safety and encouraging them to become responsible road users.
