AR celebrates NCC Day; conducts medical camp

Assam Rifles celebrated the 76th National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day on Sunday at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tuinom village, showcasing its dedication to fostering patriotism, leadership, and social responsibility among the youth.
The event featured enthusiastic participation from students who performed synchronised drills to the inspiring band tunes of the Assam Rifles.
Highlights of the celebration included.the NCC song and a motivational lecture aimed at encouraging cadets to embrace discipline, leadership, and patriotism in their lives, said a PRO 1GAR (S) release.
NCC Day commemoration serves as a vital platform for instilling values of teamwork, self-confidence, and social responsibility in the younger generation.
It prepares cadets to contribute meaningfully to the nation's development and inspires them to take on future leadership roles, the release added.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), conducted medical camps at Sora (Kakching district) and in Tengnoupal district to address critical healthcare gaps in remote and conflict-affected regions of the state.
The medical camp at Sora, themed "Promoting Peace and Health for All Communities in Manipur," featured the participation of 10 specialist doctors from various fields, including general medicine, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology, dentistry, and gynaecology.
Approximately 2,400 individuals, including residents from the Kalyan Ashram Relief Camp, received free consultations, treatments, and health awareness sessions.
Simultaneously, under Operation Sadbhavana, Assam Rifles organised a similar camp in Tengnoupal district.
This initiative featured 11 specialist doctors from IMA and catered to over 1,000 villagers, including women, children, and the elderly.
Special emphasis was placed on antenatal care, paediatric health, and preventive measures, said the PRO in another release.
