TPC's Lester elected UDWJA president

Imphal, September 24 2024: As the 2021-2024 term drew to a close, Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association (UDWJA) held its general body meeting and eleetion on Tuesday at Viewland wherein the members unanimously elected R Lester Makang, who is the Ukhrul correspondent of The People's Chronicle, as the new president, and Mingyashin Shaiza as the secretary for the 2024-2027 term.

In a release, UDWJA member Tennoson Pheirey informed that during the meeting, members in attendance expressed their collective vision for the future of journalistic fraternity in the district.

With this, UDWJA looks forward to a productive term, aiming to strengthen the association's initiatives and promote the interests of journalists in the district, it added.
