Imphal, February 24 2025:
People's Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) has derided the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphelpat for forsaking the rights of candidates who had been toiling to appear in recruitment exam for CAU assistant registrar and assistant comptroller by not allotting a centre in Imphal, despite repeated requests.
In a release, PANDM secretary general S Brojen Meitei lamented that most of the intending candidates had to miss the exam scheduled in Guwahati, Assam on February 23 as the Alliance Air flight the candidates had booked was abruptly cancelled on February 22 .
PANDM had urged the CAU authority to avoid such misfortune by having the centre in Imphal, but was disregarded, said the secretary, adding it is gross human right violation as years of hard work of the intending candidates went in vain.
On the other hand, it urged authorities concerned to launch investigation against the Alliance Air for spoiling the career of the candidates and demanded that the said recruitment exam be declared null and void, re-conducted or some posts reserved for the candidates of Manipur as and when the exam is held in Imphal.
