Competitions lined up for Singju Festival 2022

Imphal, December 23 2022:
Various competitions including solo dance, painting and essay writing along with singing contest for non-professional artistes will be organised as part of the Singju Festival 2022 to be held from December 28 to January 8, 2023 at Marjing Polo Complex, Heingang.
In a release, Festival Committee convener Rakesh Naorem informed that a Children's Solo Dance Competition based on Manipuri songs and participants wearing tradition Manipur attire will be conducted at 1 pm on December 30, Children's Spot Painting Competition (12 years and below) on the topic 'Save our Pony' on January 2, 2023 at 1 pm and Essay Writing Competition for youth (below 22 years) on the topic 'Singjuga Manipuri Khunnaiga Leinaba Mari' at 1 pm on January 3, 2023 .
The top three winners of the competitions will be rewarded Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively, while consolation prize of Rs 500 each will be given to 4th to 10th position holders, it added.
The release mentioned that a State Level Open Singing Competition will be held for non-professional artistes at 3 pm on January 6, 2023 .
The first three position winners will be presented Rs 10,000, Rs 7000 and Rs 5000, while consolation prize of Rs 2000 each will be given to 4th to 7th ranked competitors.
