Along with drawing attention of the government towards pending work for construction of the road stretch under PMGSY from Rilram Centre to Sairel Saichin, Karam Chingshang Maring People's Welfare Committee (KCMPWC) has served a 30-day ultimatum to the construction agency concerned for completion of the entrusted project while cautioning of legal action in case of failing to honour the ultimatum.
According to a statement of KCMPWC, construction of the said road under PMGSY stage-II in PIU-I Tengnoupal district was awarded to M/S Mingyao Ruivanao, a government special contractor, to which project tender worth Rs 835 lakh was issued in 2018-19 .
However, the construction remains incomplete apart from the work put on hold for 22 months in-spite of the fact that the maintenance period is due to lapse this year (2024) .
While there is no sign of resumption of the unfinished project, some people suspected to be deputed by the contractor took away bitumen kept for black-topping from the work site on May 24, the KCMPWC statement said and appealed to relevant authority to look into the matter and complete the road project at the earliest.
