Netaji Run celebrates legacy of Subhas Bose

The 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was commemorated by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Bishnupur district with a Netaji Run-2025 under the theme 'Run for Unity', on Thursday.
The event began at the Keibul Lamjao National Park and concluded at the INA Headquarters in Moirang.
Moirang holds the distinction of being the first Indian territory to be liberated from the British rule, where the tricolour was hoisted for the first time on Indian soil by Colonel Shaukat Malik of the Indian National Army (INA) .
This landmark event remains a symbol of India's fight for independence and the indomitable spirit of its people.

Before flagging off the Netaji Run-2025, Loktak Development Authority (LDA) chairman Moirangthem Asnikumar spoke about Subhas Chandra Bose's unparalleled contributions to India's freedom movement.
Calling Netaji the "first Prime Minister" of India, he described him as a visionary leader who dreamed of a united, self-reliant, and progressive nation.
He further highlighted the importance of youth in nation-building, emphasising the need to empower them with education, opportunities, and values of unity and hard work.
Participants of the run were also reminded of the historic significance of the INA Headquarters in Moirang.
The site, once neglected, has been revitalised and transformed into a landmark of national importance, honouring the contributions of INA and the people of Manipur, he said, praising the efforts of the present central and state governments in restoring the legacy of this iconic location, noting that the same now serves as a testimony to the bravery and sacrifices of the INA and the Manipuri people.
The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the run.
ABVP state leaders, and hundreds of young participants from across the state took part in the event.
On the occasion, ABVP reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth and fostering the values of unity, patriotism, and dedication to nation-building.
