Govt urged to help construct Dalit schools

All Manipur Dalit Development Association as proposed that the state government send recommendation to centre for construction of Manipur Dalit Schools in all the districts.
Speaking to media persons at its New Checkon office on Monday, Association president Rajen Ayangba informed that it was formed to follow and implement the vision of Dr BR Ambedkar, who was a champion of Dalit rights and took vital role in shaping India's constitution, to help the poor and needy people of Manipur.
He also stated that foundation stone was laid, for construction of a shelter home for orphans in Senapati district.
Reflecting on provisions under the NEP 2020 to ensure free education to students and initiatives taken up for construction of Manipur Dalit School with intake capacity of 3000 students, Rajen explained that in-spite of the construction delayed due to the conflict situation in the state, the school will be made functional within 2025 .
There are also several plans for construction of Dalit schools in different districts of the state, he continued, while mentioning that the establishment of schools will be funded by central government.
As such, the state government should send recommendation to the centre for realisation of the projects at the soonest possible, he stressed.
Rajen said the state government should accord top priority in sending the recommendation to the centre so that such a golden opportunity is not missed.
