27 Myanmarese nationals deported

Imphal, March 21 2025:
A total of 27 Myanmarese nationals, including two minors, were deported and handed over to Myanmar authorities on Friday after their identities were verified by officials at the Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Moreh.
The deported individuals had been lodged at the Manipur Central Jail prior to their repatriation.
A joint team comprising state and central security forces, led by Moreh police station officer-in-charge Md Salauddin, Moreh SDO Ejaj Hassan, and officers of 5 Assam Rifles, escorted the Myanmarese to the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, where they were handed over to immigration officials of the neighbouring country.
The verification process was conducted by immigration officials at the ICP Moreh to ensure the identities of the deported individuals before their repatriation.
The repatriation is part of the ongoing efforts by the authorities to address the issue of illegal immigrants in the state.
