Martial arts training for girls held in Chandel district

In an initiative aimed at nurturing self-reliance and empowering young women, Assam Rifles recently conducted a two-week martial arts training programme for 15 girls at Molcham village under Khengjoi sub-division in Chandel district.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the training focused on essential self-defence techniques and unarmed combat skills, equipping the participants with the tools to protect themselves while also underlining physical fitness, mental discipline and confidence.
The initiative is a vital step toward promoting women's safety and empowerment in remote and rural regions.
The programme not only-enhanced the self-defence abilities of the participants but also strengthened their sense of community and cultural identity.
It reflects Assam Rifles' continued commitment to uplifting local communities and creating opportunities for growth, especially for young girls in underserved areas paving the way for a more confident and resilient generation of women, the PRO conveyed.
