Kakching shutdown affects normal life

Kakching, November 17 2024:
The 12-hour shutdown from 6 am Sunday called by various CSOs in Kakching district to protest the killing of six women and children by armed Kuki militants, as well as the indefinite curfew clamped by the government, caused serious disruption to normal chores in the district.
The total shutdown was called by the All Kakching Clubs' Coordinating Committee, Kakching Keithel Apunba Ima Lup, Kakching Apunba Nupi Lup, All Kha Kanglei Students' Union (AKSU), Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Langsai Thouna Manipur - Kakching, and Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association (KBBWA) Kakching.
During the shutdown, all shops and establishments in the district ceased operation, and passenger and private vehicles were off the roads.
However, no untoward incidents were reported during the shutdown.
