Blood donation camp held at RIMS

Imphal, August 16 2025:
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, Department of Transfusion Medicine, in collaboration with 143 Battalion CRPF and ISKCON Manipur, organised a blood donation camp at the General OPD complex, RIMS Hospital on Friday.
According to a release issued by RIMS media cell, the event was held on the eve of Sri Krishna Janmashtami 2025 and in celebration of Independence Day.
The camp witnessed active participation from devotees of ISKCON Manipur, members of 143 Bn CRPF, and the general public.
The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and contribute to saving lives through community service, it added.
The release stated that the programme was attended by RIMS director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh, ISK-CON Manipur zonal secretary/ chairman Ekanath Das, Temple president Sadhubhusan Das, and vice-president (PRO) Kesava Das, along with other devotees and well-wishers.
Speaking at the event, the dignitaries emphasised the importance of voluntary blood donation and lauded the collaborative spirit of the organising bodies.
They also highlighted how such initiatives embody the values of service, compassion, and unity that both Independence Day and Sri Krishna Janmashtami represent, it said.
The release further informed that the blood donation camp concluded successfully, with many donors from CRPF personnel and members of ISKCON stepping forward to contribute.
Certificates were also distributed to the donors during the camp.
