Empanelled pharmacy at risk of closure

Unable to get reimbursement from the government, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tenbang (CMHT) empanelled pharmacy within the Churachandpur District Hospital campus is at risk of closure from August 15.According to sources, the pharmacy's management has failed to get reimbursement of the medicines provided to patients from January, 2023, and through CMHT and PMJAY cards since 2022 .
If case of closure, many needy patients in the district will be facing serious problems as many will not be able to procure the medicines free of cost in lieu of possession of PMJAY and CMHT cards.
In addition, the card holders who need to undergo operation, or avail treatment for cardiovascular diseases, cancer, kidney and liver problem, neo natal, neurological and bum injuries, along with the conceiving mothers would be facing problems beyond description as they have been availing the government extended benefits.
The management stated that despite not getting any reimbursement from the government, they have been trying to cope with the situation for the -sake of the patients.
However, as their resources have exhausted, they might be compelled to down shutters until positive steps are taken up by the government, the sources conveyed.
