Koireng-led UNLF condoles

Imphal, May 13 2024:
The Koireng-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has expressed deep condolences over the untimely demise of the Front's former top functionary Aheibam Birendra, who passed away on May 10 .
According to a condolence message of the Koireng-led UNLF, Birendra served the outfit from early part of 1965, played key role and held the post of secretary organisation (home) .
Till his last breath, Birendra took part in important activities of the outfit with dedication, the message said.
Aheibam Birendra, born on October 1, 1947, was son of late Aheibam Nong-yai and Maipakpi Devi of Heirangoithong.
He passed MA (English) from Gauhati University and served as teacher at Churachandpur College and Oriental College.
He later served as director of the Department of Art & Culture, Manipur as well as director of North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur (Nagaland) .
On behalf of the outfit, the central committee of UNLF condoled Birendra's demise due to aging health conditions and shared pain and grief of the bereaved family and relatives.
