Five injured in police vehicle accident

Moreh, August 12 2022:
A policeman and four VDF person nel were injured when a Tata Sumo bullet proof (BP) vehicle (MN DIG 0035) of Moreh police station met with an accident after it rammed into a hillside between Ima Kon dong Lairembi Khubam and Moreh College around 11.30 am on Friday.
The injured persons have been identified as Moreh police personnel Thangkholun Hapkip (58) of Moreh Ward No 8 and VDF personnel Letkhogin Khongsai (37) of Langching Sugnu, Mayanglambam Inao (41) of Moreh Ward No 8, Nongthombam Naobi Meitei (41) of Moreh Khunou Leikai and Takhellambam Tomchou Meitei (40) of Kwatha village.
Speaking to media persons, BP driver Thangkholun Haokip recounted that the accident occurred due to brake failure while they were returning from their daily highway patrolling/protection duty.
A police team led by Moreh police station OC Ch Anand rushed to the spot and pulled up the vehicle with the help of an excavator.
He also visited the injured at Moreh Sub-Di-visional Hospital to assess their condition.
