Pambei-led UNLF cadres save youth

Cadres of the Pambei-led UNLF rescued a youth, who nearly crossed into Kuki areas in Tengnoupal district on Sunday.
The rescued youth has been identified as Shamu-railatpam Recson Sharma (19), son of Sh Milan of Langmeidong Taret Khul, Kakching district but presently staying at Waikhong Uyung Khunou.
The youngster has been handed over to his family members in the presence of Langthabal Khunou Meira Paibi member and Waikhong GP ward member Sanasam Deny in a simple ceremony, held at the Front's organisation section office located at Yaithibi Loukol on Sunday afternoon.
Interacting with the media, Chingya, a member of the front, said that Recson went towards Langol village in Tengnoupal district riding a bicycle.
The village is located about 6 km west from Yaithibi Loukol.
Fortunately, the village chief of Langol village, Meerung stopped and prevented him from going further and informed one Kh Romenkumar of Langthabal Khunou, who then reported the situation to UNLF Thoubal district unit, after which district secretary Liklangamba promptly despatched a rescue team and brought him back, Chingya said.
He also noted that many have fallen victims of the crisis after inadvertently crossing into Kuki villages and appealed to the people to be vigilant and not to foray into hostile zones.
He further urged local clubs to create awareness among their residents to prevent such incidents.
