Imphal, June 11 2024: The first foundation day of Manipur Awang Chingkhei Kanba Club and Meira Paibi Lup (MACKCMAL) was held at Uttarayan Theatre, Khurai Sajor Leikai with participation of people from Lamlai, Khurai and Khundrakpam assembly constituencies on Tuesday.

The programme held with Hui-yen Lanpao chief editor Maibam Dhanabir, MACKCMAL advisor Khaidem Lokendrajit and convener Nongmaithem Somorjit as presidium members was marked by paying of floral tributes to martyrs of the year-long ongoing ethnic conflict in the state along with holding of a discussion on the topic 'Public Discourse Aftermath of 3rd May-2023 Incident and Responsibility of Citizens to Restore Peace in Manipur' .

Speaking on the occasion, MACKCMAL spokesperson Victor P informed that it was constituted last year by meira paibi groups and clubs of Lamlai, Khurai and Khundrakpam ACs after the state was engulfed in a humanitarian crisis as Chin-Kuki narco terrorists started attacking Meetei community in pursuit of their separate administration demand.

He also appealed to the Meetei people to unite for protecting the community.
