Landslide cuts off Anal Khullen from Chandel HQ

Kakching, July 09 2025: A massive landslide along the Lamphou Charu-Anal Khullen inter village road triggered by incessant rainfall over the past few days in Chandel district has cut off Anal Khullen from Chandel district headquarters.

Aftermath of the landslide, visuals of which were widely circulated on the social media platforms, Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA), the apex body of Anal Naga community, led by its president PS Monihring, general secretary Ts Larni and executive members, as well as social worker Ts Beton reached the site by afternoon and started clearing the landslide debris by engaging an excavator provided by special contractor Hl Lovingson.

The landslide site is about 15 km from the distriet headquarters.

Speaking to media persons, general secretary Ts Larni confided that as waiting for the District Disaster Management Fund (DDMF) would take time, they decided to join the road clearance operation with the help of the excavator.

He also expressed gratitude to chiefs of nearby villages, namely Rt Bechung Hb Lovingson and Ht Thuwnhring, and Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (ALT) Chakpikarong Branch president Rt Sainial for their support.

ALT, Chakpikarong volunteers also arrived at the site and helped in clearing the road.

Due to continuous rainfall and sporadic landslides, ANTA will resume the debris clearance work on Thursday.
