Jiribam declared 'no drone zone' ahead of Rahul's visit

Imphal, July 07 2024: As a pre-emptive measures ahead' of the scheduled visit of leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi on Monday, Jiribam district administration has restricted usage of drones.

In an order issued Sunday, Jiribam additional district magistrate (ADM) Th Manoranjan declared entire Jiribam district a 'No Fly Zone' for the day of the visit.

The order specified that there shall be restrictions on use of aerial photography and videography through all kinds of aviation devices including UAV, drones, and balloons among others.

Violations of the order will invite legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and other relevant laws, cautioned the order, adding that the restriction will remain in force on Monday.
