Students exhorted to join defence service

In a collaborative initiative, 5 Assam Rifles and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Moreh Block organised a motivational lecture on Wednesday at the conference hall of Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh to shed light on opportunities and challenges within the defence sector.
The session commenced with a welcome address by KSO Moreh vice-president (external) Simon Baite, who underscored the importance of empowering youth to pursue non-traditional career paths.
The keynote lecture, led by Major Rohan Dhumal (town commander), captain Kumar Saurav, and riflewoman (RFW) Epsha Marak, provided valuable insights into life in the armed forces, the selection process, and the various roles women can take up in the military.
An interactive session allowed attendees to pose questions, fostering clarity on career trajectories.
Laltanpuia Vaiphei, vice-president Hill Tribal Council, Moreh, praised the initiative, urging students to "pursue their dreams with discipline and resolve" .
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Peter Mate, joint secretary KSO Moreh Block, who acknowledged the contributions of the 5 Assam Rifles, HTC Moreh, and participants in ensuring the programme's success.
