CPI urges centre to send Parl team to state

At its annual conference held in Khwairakpam on Tuesday, CPI Oinam Local Council decided to urge the central government for sending an all-political party team to Manipur.
According to a statement, the conference presided over by Khaidem Chaoba adopted several resolutions, including extending benefits of various government schemes to farmers in Oinam assembly constituency, bringing political solution to the ongoing crisis in the state, and proposing the centre to promptly despatch an all-party parliamentary team to Manipur.
The conference also demanded the state government to make arrangement for safe farming activities in the foothill areas and initiate steps providing water through the Loktak Lift Irrigation project.
During the conference, MSC/CPI State Secretary L Thoiren expressed disappointment over the government's inability to resolve the crisis, the statement conveyed.
