DC orders eviction of encroachments by Aug 8

Kakching, August 02 2025: Kakching deputy commissioner has issued a public order directing the removal of unauthorised structures and encroachments along roads and public spaces across the district.

The order comes in response to multiple instances of illegal construction Such as extended houses, shops, sheds and other permanent or temporary structures in Kakching.

These encroachments, the order noted, are causing inconvenience to the public, obstructing the free flow of traffic and posing safety hazards for commuters.

The order instructed all unauthorised occupants to clear such encroachments including structures, items and debris located/stocked along National Highways', State Highways, inter-district roads, inter-village roads and footpaths within Kakching district by 3 pm of August 8, 2015, failing which the district administration, in coordination with the police and relevant departments, will initiate eviction and demolition drives.

The cost of removal of the demolished items will be recovered from the encroachers, the order stated.
