Arms seized as search ops continue

Security forces continued to conduct search operation in different parts of the state leading to seizure of arms and ammunition.
According to police report, a combined team of Kakching police commandos and 33 AR searched Kharungpat village under Hiyanglam police station in Kakching district leading to recovery a rice bag and a white plastic bag containing a Carbine with magazine, one Bolt Action 303 rifle, a 2-inch smoke shell, one SLR magazine, an INSAS LMG magazine, five 36 HE grenades, 10 rounds of 303, four rounds of AK Rifle, six rounds of 9 mm, five rounds of SLR, five detonators, four fired cartridges, two helmets, one BP Vest, a military Belt, seven rounds of 5.56 INSAS, two Mobile handsets, two cases of INSAS rounds, two cases of AK Rifle round, three cases of 303 Rifle, four cases of SLR Rifle, two cases of .22, four double blast smoke shells, five smoke grenades, one green signal grenade, two anti-riot rubber bullets (38 mm), seven soft nose tear smoke shells, and five tear gas stun shells.
According to another statement by Manipur police control room, security forces recovered one .22 Rifle along with magazine, one Single Bore Barrel Rifle, two 9mm Pistol along with magazine, one 7.65mm Pistol with magazine, one 36 HE hand grenade without detonator, one Chinese Grenade and three live rounds from Govajang in Kangpokpi district on Thursday.
Assam Rifles and Manipur Police also launched a joint cordon and search operation in Bijang village on Friday, leading to the recovery of one 9 mm pistol, two single barrel bolt action rifles, three No 36 hand grenades, three rounds of improvised mortar ammunition and warlike stores.
The recovered items were handed over to the Manipur Police, a release said.
