Rotary Club distributes water tanks under WASH project

Imphal, June 26 2025:
Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal (RCPCI) on Thursday carried out a humanitarian initiative under the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) project, supported by the District Grant of Rotary, by distributing water tanks to communities in need of clean and safe water.
In a statement, the Club informed that as part of the WASH mega project, it identified and selected 14 locations, primarily comprising relief camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Old Age Homes, and Children's Homes, for assistance.
Fourteen water tanks, each of 1000 litres capacity, were distributed to enhance access to clean water for these communities.
Attending the event, Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arun, and RCPCI president Sovid Elangbam highlighted the critical importance of sanitation, hygiene, and the availability of pure drinking water, particularly for those living in relief camps and institutional homes.
They reaffirmed their commitment, on behalf of the club, to continue supporting such meaningful causes in the future, whenever the need arises.
The distribution programme was also attended by RCPCI president-elect Dr RK Ratankumar, secretary S Preshyojit, past president Dinesh Haobam, along with several other dedicated members of the club, the statement added.
