Assam Rifles holds cleanliness drive, ESN meet

Assam Rifles organised a cleanliness drive and awareness campaign, as well as an outreach programme on Tuesday.
In Kasong village of Kam-jong district, the Assam Rifles conducted a cleanliness drive and awareness campaign as part of the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan to promote environmental sustainability, in collaboration with the village authorities.
A total of 45 people, including local authorities, joined hands with Assam Rifles personnel to clean public areas and raise awareness about personal and environmental hygiene.
The participants were also given basic medicines and chemicals to maintain hygiene standards.
According to PRO IGAR (S), Assam Rifles conducted a community outreach programme at Songdo village, Churachandpur district to support education and provide essential resources to underprivileged students and villagers.
Books and relief materials were distributed, highlighting the transformative power of education and add ressing immediate needs to foster a sense of security and well-being among the community, added the PRO.
In another release, the PRO said that Assam Rifles conducted an interaction programme with ex-servicemen and Veer Naris as part of its welfare and rehabilitation programme at Assam Rifles Camp in Churachandpur on Tuesday, during which the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris discussed their hardships due to the ongoing situation and pledged their full support for bringing peace and stability to the state.
A grievance cell was also established to register any complaints and suggestions for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris.
The programme was attended by 28 ex-servicemen and six Veer Naris.
