Govindas bats for supporting sportspersons

Bishnupur, June 25 2025:
Nongmaithem Pamheiba, who won the 48 kg gold medal at the Moscow Wushu Stars 2025 International Wushu Championship held in the Russia capital from June 1 to 7, was felicitated by Wushu Training Academy at its Nachou Mayai Mamang community hall on Wednesday.
N Pamheiba, a trainee of the Academy, is the eldest son of N Shantikumar and Nanao Devi of Nachou Gram Panchayat Ward No 3.The felicitation programme was attended by Bishnupur MLA Govindas Konthoujam, Bishnupur District Wushu Association vice president Y Ramananda, Bishnupur district youth affairs and sports officer H Hemjit Meitei, line department nominee Kh Ningthouremba Singh, Nachou Zilla Parishad Administrative Committee member L Menjor, Bishnupur District Wushu Guardian Association president K Phajaton Devi and Wushu Training Academy, president L Robinchandra Singh as presidium members.
Govindas, who handed over cash prize to Pamheiba on the occasion, stated that as people have realised that sports can ensure a thriving career all possible support should be extended to the sportspersons.
He also announced that if Wushu is included in the Khe-lo India programme, he will ensure that priority is given to Bishnupur district for the development of the sport.
