Youth competitions showcase diverse talents

Thoubal, September 23 2024: As part of the District Youth Festival Thoubal 2024 organised by District Youth Affairs and Sports Office Thoubal, competitions for youth in painting, poetry, story writing, declamation, handicraft, group folk dance and song, solo folk dance and song were held at Thoubal Kshetrileikai Haotabi Lampak multipurpose stadium.

The function was attended by DFA, Thoubal vice president and SAI retired assistant director K Michael Singh and District Youth Affairs and Sports officer Deven Moirangthem as chief guest and president respectively while YAS senior youth officer Nongthombam Rameshor Singh and Physical Education senior lecturer L Manao Singh were the guests of honour of the function.

Wangkheimayum Joyrani won first place in painting, Laishram Deepashri in poetry, Akoijam Raneldrajit Singh in story writing, and Swami Waikhom in declamation while Thokchom Mandashwori was recognised for handicraft.

Performing Entertainment Arts and Culture Evolution (PEACE) won the group folk dance and song competition as Okram Odelliya took the top spot in solo folk dance and Laimapokpam Luckyrani claimed first, position in solo folk song.

Winners were awarded cash prize and certificates.
