ISL/I-League, Manipur team friendly on June 27

A charity football match under the theme 'For the wellbeing of Manipur' will be played between ISL/I-League Player 11 and Manipur 11 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium at 5 pm on June 27 .
Addressing media persons held in connection with the charity match at Hotel Encan-to, Airport road on Sunday, ISL/I-League Player 11 convener Bikram Yumnam informed that the sporting event is being sponsored by entrepreneurs Kishan Light, Arun Enterprises and Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
The match has been organised as a fund raiser to assisbpeople affected by the ongoing crisis in the state, he added.
Mentioning that there will be no entry ticket for the match, Bikram appealed to football enthusiasts to watch the match between Manipuri professional footballers and the state's team.
On the other hand, professional footballer Chinglensana Singh Konsam stated that the match is aimed at raising funds for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) .
He mentioned that all professional footballers of the state donning colours of teams in the country's top leagues like Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League had a hard time concentrating on their game due to the prevailing crisis in the state.
Chinglensana continued that they have been extending support for the affected people in whatever way they can while confiding that hailing from Churachandpur, he is eager to see his home.
Chinglensana further requested all to come for the charity match, while appealing to the central and state governments to resolve the year-long conflict, so that peace can return to the state at the earliest.
