Kakching body demands road repair, warns of stir

Kakching, October 21 2024: All Kakching Clubs' Coordinating Committee (AKCCC) has threatened to block the road stretch from Kakching Lamkhai to Wabagai Lamkhai, which is part of the Imphal-Mayang Imphal-Kakching Lamkhai road along National Highway 137 (A), if repair works are not initiated by October 27 .

Speaking to the media at Kakching Mayai Leikai multipurpose hall on Monday, AKCCC president Kshetrimayum Dharmadas informed that decision to resort to agitation was taken in a joint meeting of AKCCC, Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association (KBBWA), Volunteers Coordinating Committee Kakching, and Whizz Kids Society, Kakching.

The committee decried non translation into action repeated assurances given by the government to commence the repair work.

It advised government authorities to do the needful before the public launch protests.

On the other-hand, Dharmadas criticised M/s Leibaklei Gas Service, Kakching for ceasing distribution of LPG refills since May, while other agencies continue to serve customers.
