Book based on Chothe tradition, folklore released

Imphal, January 20 2025:
A book titled "Chothegee Chatnarol Amasung Phungga Wari", based on Chothe tradition and folklore, penned by Y Maipak Chothe and Dr Laishram Imoba Singh as author and co-author respectively was released on Monday during a programme organised by The Lamlanghupi Chothe Village Administration Council at Lamlanghupi, Chothe Bishnupur ward no 3.A monolith stone was also unveiled as part of the programme.
The programme was attended by Manipur University retired professor W Nabakumar Singh as chief guest, Lamlanghupi, Chothe chief Thao Jatra Chothe as the functional president and Lamyanba Printer, Imphal manager Taorem Manggi Singh as the guest of honour.

Delivering the chief guest address, W Nabakumar Singh emphasised the need for the involvement of young generations in safeguarding and promoting ones on cultural and traditional identity.
Pointing out that the book will facilitate the common and the future generations to better understand the culture and tradition along with once orally narrated folk tales of Chothe tribe.
Nabakumar advised the young people to spend more time with elderly people so as to gain important traditional knowledge which cannot be found through science and technology.
