Hideouts busted, arms recovered, many arrested

Search operations conducted by security forces in fringe and vulnerable areas across the state led to the recovery of arms arid ammunition, busting of hideouts, and arrest of several cadres of outlawed organisations.
According to a press release issued by the Manipur Police Control Room, in one of the operations conducted at Bongbal Khullen village in Imphal East district, two SLR rifles, one INSAS rifle with magazine, and five rounds of 5.56mm calibre were recovered.
On Wednesday, security forces arrested three active members of the proscribed KCP (MFL) from Thangmeiband Watham Leirak crossing in Imphal West.
The individuals were identified as L Gotimayum Shridevi Devi alias Deva alias Chinglembi (27), Abujam Manosh Singh alias Apaibi (20), and Abujam Sunder Singh alias Nanao (28), One 9mm pistol with magazine, one .32 pistol with magazine, 10 live rounds, three mobile handsets, and a two wheeler were also seized from their possession.
The same day, security forces dismantled two underground camps, one belonging to KYKL and the other a training centre op erated by PREPAK, during a cordon and search operation at Makou Pourabi in Imphal East district.
Items recovered from the KYKL hideout included an air gun, a keypad mobile handset with a SIM card, a bulletproof helmet, and uniforms.
From the PREPAK camp, the recoveries included a magazine of INSAS light machine gun (LMG), 47 casings, a bayonet, five wooden dummy guns, two Baofeng walkie-talkie sets, two four-wheelers, one two-wheeler, and incriminating documents and articles.
On the same day, two active members Of KCP (PWG) were arrested from Mantripukhri Bazar in Imphal East district.
The two, identified as Sanjrambam Luha Meitei (29) and Nongthombam Itombi Meitei (35), were allegedly involved in extortion activities targeting the general public, private firms, and government offices.
Items recovered from their possession included two demand letters and 16 cash receipt notes of the KCP (PWG) group, three mobile phones, a wallet containing Rs 2,200 cash, two ID cards, a sling bag, and a Honda Ac-tiva scooter.
Further intensifying their crackdown, security forces arrested six cadres of the KCP (PWG) from Bijoypur Mamang Leikai and Makha Leikai in Kakching district.
The arrested individuals were identified as Moirangthem Achouba Singh (43), Laishram Manglem Singh (48), Leishangthem Dabalo Singh (37), Leishangthem Momo-cha Singh (45), Leishangthem Rohit Meitei (23), and Okram Chaoba Singh (44) .
Three mobile handsets were seized from their possession.
Earlier on Tuesday, another cadre of the KCP (PWG) was arrested from Tangkhul Avenue area under Lamphel police station in Imphal West.
The arrested individual, identified as Chongtham Sachikanta Singh (22), was reportedly involved in extortion activities targeting shops, beauty parlours, and spas in arid around Tangkhul Avenue.
A mobile handset was
recovered from him.
