Ratan Thiyam's 'Eibu Nungshibiyu Haide" released

Imphal, January 19 2025: A book of poems titled "Eibu Nungshibiyu Haide" penned by award winning theatre exponent Ratan Thiyam was released at 'The Shrine' Playhouse of the Chorus Repertory Theatre, Samushang on Sunday by AIR Imphal former station director Dilip Mayengbam as Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Imphal president.

Longjam Joychandra introduced the book and reflected on Ratan Thiyam's achievements in the field of theatre and literature.

He also elaborated on Ratan Thiyam's other books of poetry.

During the event, Ratan Thiyam explained that "Eibu Nungshibiyu Haide" is a compilation of writings in the later part of his life.

He clarified that the book was not written with any specific intention, but rather as a natural reflection of his experiences.

The author conceded that he is not an expert in poetry and encouraged everyone to read the book at least once during their leisure time.

Additionally, several distinguished writers present at the event read selected poems from the five poetry collections written by Ratan Thiyam.
